DENVER - Weld is one of three Colorado counties at the focal point of a study that could bring greater broadband Internet access to the state.
The Office of Information Technology and the Colorado Department of Local Affairs launched a pilot program as part of Connect Colorado. The group is asking Internet users in Weld, Garfield and Las Animas to visit its website and complete an online survey. The data collected will be used to map broadband access and speed in urban, suburban and rural areas. The counties were selected because of the presence of energy projects within their boundaries.
