FORT COLLINS - Fort Collins' water treatment facility has received a Silver Tier Environmental Achievement award from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
The award is the third consecutive award for the facility. The city's Drake water reclamation facility also received a Silver Tier award.
The water treatment facility was honored for its accomplishments in energy efficiency practices and extensive recycling efforts. The Drake water reclamation facility was recognized for reducing energy consumption during peak demand periods, elimination of odor control chemicals and for its energy efficiency and recycling practices.
