GREELEY - State Farm Insurance Co. in Greeley donated $100,000 to the Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado.
The donation will be used for more than 30 student scholarships and program support for the 2009-10 year. Since 1991, State Farm has given the Monfort College $539,000, as well as $332,000 to other programs at UNC. Ken Cook, the vice president of operations for State Farm in Greeley, is the board chair of the UNC Foundation and a member of the college's Dean's Leadership Council.
"We're proud to support the Monfort College of Business and the University of Northern Colorado," said Cook in a prepared statement. "State Farm believes in supporting higher education in the region, since an educated workforce is beneficial to everyone living in Northern Colorado. We hope that other area companies will choose to support the college in their preparation of our future workforce."
