Starting Feb. 17, Northern Colorado 5 will be available on Comcast Channel 8 in Fort Collins and Loveland and Channel 14 in Greeley.

Northern Colorado 5, part of Cheyenne-based CBS affiliate KGWN, fought a years-long battle to be included in the Comcast lineup in Larimer and Weld counties. It landed on Channel 250 early last year, and Comcast agreed to move the station closer to the single digit channels when the switch to digital-only broadcasting is made on Feb. 17.

KGWN General Manager Joan Turner said that even if the switch is delayed, which some speculate could happen under the new presidential administration, Northern Colorado 5 will be moved to the lower channels. Northern Colorado 5, headquartered in Fort Collins, covers regional news and weather with newscasts Monday through Friday at 10 p.m.
