Co's Auto Group donates $10,000 to the Women's Resource Center
PHOTO CAPTION- Christina Dawkins, owner and dealer principal of Co’s Auto Group, and employees of Co’s BMW present Annette Zacharias, Executive Director of the Women’s Resource Center, with a $10,000 check to support affordable connections to healthcare for women in Larimer County.
“Co’s Auto Group is a valued community partner and we are so appreciative of their support of the Women’s Resource Center and the women we serve,” said Annette Zacharias, executive director of the Women’s Resource Center. “To work in partnership with Co’s was mutually beneficial; it allowed them to raise funds while going about their business of selling cars, and it allowed us to focus on our job of serving women in Larimer County. We hope in the future to develop similar cooperative partnerships with other businesses in the community.”
Without affordable health care, most low-income women don’t have the opportunity to thrive and be healthy. They aren’t aware of or can’t afford preventive health practices, such as basic dental hygiene, regular well-woman check-ups and recommended mammograms and PAP tests. These women have a greater risk of late stage cancer diagnoses, higher mortality rates and serious oral health problems. The Women’s Resource Center is here to help them with prevention as well as when larger health and dental issues arise.
Because money shouldn’t be a barrier to a woman’s health.
