Firestone OKs seven new wells
Kerr-McGee, a subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, aims to drill the wells in May, town planning coordinator Rebecca Toberman said.
The wells also will be located on undeveloped property zoned for single-family residential housing in the southern part of town, Toberman said.
"From a town standpoint, that's when we prefer these wells to go in: They work out their surface use agreements prior to any development on the property itself," she said.
The wells at first will occupy 10 acres, but later only three acres when they are completed.
