FORT COLLINS - Colorado State University has retained architectural firm Populous as a design consultant for its potential on-campus stadium.

Kansas City-based Populous, formerly known as HOK Sport, is a leading designer of stadiums, and is currently designing a stadium for Baylor University in Texas. The firm also designed TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota.

Populous was selected following a competitive process and will be paid with private dollars, CSU said.

Staff from Populous will be present at public meetings to be held on the stadium at 5:30 p.m. on April 16 and April 17 in the Fum McGraw Athletic Center's first-floor auditorium. The two meetings will have identical format and content.

Presentations from university staff and outside consultants will be given on the criteria for site selection, feasibility factors for an on-campus stadium, potential uses outside of football and CSU's master-planning process.

Members of the Stadium Advisory Committee will be present at the meetings. Community members are asked to attend only one meeting.

Populous will work together with ICON Venue Group, the stadium consultant selected by CSU, to complete a preliminary stadium feasibility study.
