Northern Colorado will see a slew of new highway construction projects this summer, including resurfacing 11 miles of Highway 392 in Windsor.

The $5.5 million project involves resurfacing the highway from just east of Interstate 25 to Seventh Street in Windsor. Construction will take place from May through October.

The resurfacing is one of $110 million in projects planned for 150 miles of highway in northeast Colorado this summer, the Colorado Department of Transportation said Tuesday.

The transportation department also will reconstruct the U.S. 85 bypass in Greeley from U.S. 34 to Fifth Street. Crews will remove pavement, extend and widen turn lanes and replace traffic signals.

The $12.4 million project will start in June and is scheduled to be completed next summer.

Crews also will resurface U.S. 85 between Brighton and Fort Lupton from mile markers 236 to 241 and U.S. 34 from mile markers 113 to 115. They also will improve the intersection of U.S. 85 and County Road 16 in Fort Lupton.

The transportation department also will continue construction on several other ongoing projects.

Crews will continue a $17.5 million project to replace the Highway 392 bridge over Interstate 25. The project is scheduled to be completed next spring.

Work to add a left turn lane from westbound U.S. 34 to Mall Road in Estes Park will last until June, the transportation department said.

Another ongoing project to install cable and guard rails on U.S. 85 between Brighton and Fort Lupton from mile markers 236 and 241 is scheduled to finish in June.
