The average price for a gallon of gas in Fort Collins increased by just 1 cent while decreasing by the same amount in Greeley during the past week, according to AAA.

Fort Collins gas prices were $3.65 while Greeley prices averaged $3.66, AAA said Wednesday. Prices inched closer to what they were one year ago, when gas cost $3.64 in Fort Collins and Greeley.

Gas prices in Boulder and Longmont were slightly lower than in Northern Colorado at $3.64 this week. Denver gas prices decreased 1 cent to $3.66.

Gas prices in Vail remained the highest of the Colorado locations tracked by AAA at $4.12.

Statewide, gas prices averaged $3.70, significantly higher than the national average of $3.54.
