LOVELAND - Yancey's Food Service has been acquired by Food Services of America.

Yancey's is a 72-year-old company that located in Loveland in 2003. As of March, the company provided service to more than 1,800 restaurants and employed 270 people.

Senior managment and Yancey's employees will remain at the Loveland distribution center, located at 5820 Piper Drive. Earlier this spring, Yancey's applied for a fee waiver with the City of Loveland to expand the facility.

Now that the acqusition is complete, construction on the expansion will begin, according to Greg Yancey, president of Yancey's. The project is expected to double the facility's capacity.

With the acquisition, Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Food Services of America will have complete coverage of the western U.S., according to a company release. Yancey's operations span Colorado, Nebraska, Utah, Wyoming and New Mexico.
