GREELEY - Upstate Colorado Economic Development Corp. on Friday announced the appointment of Eric Berglund as its permanent CEO.

Berglund has served as interim CEO of the organization since the departure of Larry Burkhardt in October 2011. Prior to that Berglund served as vice president and CFO.

The advancement is effective immediately.

"After a national search, we confirmed that we already had the right person for this job," said Jeff Bedingfield, chairman of the Upstate board of directors.

Upstate is a public/private nonprofit dedicated to attracting and supporting primary employers in Weld County.
