Forbes: Fort Collins 3rd-best place to do business
The list, published Wednesday, ranks the nation's 200 largest metropolitan areas on job trends, business costs, income growth, quality of life and the educational level of the labor force. Fort Collins has ranked in the top five for the last three years.
Denver ranked fifth on the list, while Boulder ranked No. 27; Colorado Springs ranked No. 42 and Greeley ranked No. 46.
Forbes noted the presence of companies such as HP, Intel, AMD and Amago in Fort Collins and the research done at CSU.
"Up-and-coming industries in the area include clean energy, bioscience and agri-tech business," Forbes said.
Only Provo, Utah, and Raleigh, N.C., ranked higher than Fort Collins.
