Adams Bank and Trust will open its sixth Colorado branch in Longmont, Colorado Regional President Nathan Ewert confirmed Tuesday.

The new branch of the Nebraska-based bank will be located at 10 Ken Pratt Blvd. and is scheduled to open Aug. 20. Adams Bank and Trust will have 16 branches in all, with 10 located throughout Nebraska.

Colorado branches include one each in Fort Collins, Berthoud and Firestone and two in Colorado Springs.

Adams has received final approval from state and federal regulators to open the branch, which will employ six people when it becomes operational.

"Our plan locally is to meet the banking needs of business and individuals, and to assist in keeping Longmont vibrant and growing," Ewert said. "Adams Bank and Trust is lending and growing, and as a community bank, we have the unique advantage of directing loans to areas where depositors live and work."

Adams holds $550 million in assets.
