Oil and gas industry donates $400K for fire relief
Noble Energy Inc. donated $50,000 and matched contributions from employees, who contributed another $20,000 to the American Red Cross. Noble contributed an additional $20,000 to the U.S. Forest Service for reforestation efforts.
Anadarko Petroleum Corp. contributed $25,000 to the governor's fire relief fund. Marathon Oil Co. donated $10,000 and Black Diamond Minerals gave $5,000 to the Red Cross.
Encana Corp. doubled donations made by its employees for fire relief statewide.
The $400,000 total does not include contributions of employees and the companies' matching dollars, which the oil and gas association expects will raise the amount to more than $500,000.
