Construction jobs in Colorado increased by 6.1 percent year-over-year in June, ranking Colorado at No. 9 in the country for construction employment growth.

New figures from the Associated General Contractors of America show that the number of construction jobs statewide increased from 110,400 in June 2011 to 117,100 in June.

Twenty-five states, as well as Washington, D.C. added construction jobs in June, according to the report.

Across Colorado, more construction jobs are expected to be created as homeowners rebuild after losing property in recent wildfires.
