GREELEY - Banner Health has opened its new emergency facility in Greeley, next to Summit View Medical Commons.

The facility, at 71th Avenue and 20th Street, is staffed by the physicians from the same group that provides emergency services at North Colorado Medical Center. Patients at the emergency facility who need hospital treatment will be admitted to NCMC.

The emergency department at NCMC's main campus will remain in operation. The addition of the new facility will reduce wait times for Greeley residents, according to Banner.

The freestanding emergency department includes a triage area, exam rooms, procedure rooms, continuing care bays and medical imagining equipment.
Banner announced plans for the new site just over a month after its primary competitor in the region, Poudre Valley Health System, said it would construct a $14.5 million, 22,000-square-foot facility at the intersection of 71st Avenue and 10th Street in Greeley.
