Coca-Cola Co. CEO Muhtar Kent and CSU officials are among the multiple speakers featured at the inaugural Colorado Innovation Network Summit in Denver later this month, the governor's office said Friday.

Kent will deliver the keynote speech on innovation, highlighting how new technology and greater global access to information and capital can lead to success.

"Muhtar Kent's experience in helping the Coca-Cola Co. incorporate innovative ideas to expand business and revenues throughout the world is unmatched," Gov. John Hickenlooper said. "We are thrilled to have him speak at COIN's inaugural summit."

In addition to his role at Coca-Cola, Kent is co-chair of the Consumer Goods Forum, a fellow of the Foreign Policy Association and a member of the Business Roundtable.

In addition to Kent, Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock as well as CSU's College of Business Dean Ajay Menon and Economics Professor Stephan Weiler will speak at the event. Business and nonprofit leaders also will give speeches.

The COIN Innovation Summit takes place at the Denver Art Museum on Aug. 29 and 30. Presentation topics include innovation networks in a global economy and improving the state's innovation climate.
