GREELEY - The University of Northern Colorado's Monfort College of Business has named the former North Colorado Medical Center CEO as its new director of the Monfort Executive Professor Program.

Gene O'Hara will be responsible for recruiting regional and national speakers, as well as executive professors for the college.

The executive professor program was established by an endowment of $1 million donated by Kenneth and Myra Monfort in 1989. The program brings in senior business executives to teach in residence for one or more semesters as full-time faculty members, or to teach a complete course in a condensed two- to five-week format.

O'Hara recently retired from a 30-year career in health care, leading medical centers and regional health networks. He spent four years as the CEO of NCMC in Greeley.
