Warren Federal Credit Union to open Fort Collins location
Construction is under way at the 4,200-square-foot location, which is expected to be staffed with about 10 employees. Warren FCU is working with Fort Collins companies RB+B Architects and Dohn Construction to remodel the main level of what formerly housed a Bank of the West branch.
This is Warren FCU's second foray into the Colorado market. The credit union also has a branch inside Bella's Market in Wellington.
This branch will mark the eighth location for Warren FCU. Other branches of the Wyoming-based credit union are located throughout Laramie and Cheyenne, Wyo.
In November 2011, Warren FCU announced that it would break ground on a Fort Collins location at the intersection of Drake and Timberline roads, but renovating an existing building offered more speed-to-market, according to Michael Nagl, Colorado market vice president.
This element became especially important when the Wellington branch was threatened by the possible closure of the market in which it resides. The market was purchased and reopened as Bella's Market, sparing the Wellington location.
Warren still owns the land at Drake and Timberline but has no immediate plans to develop it, Nagl said.
Warren holds $435 million in assets.
