FORT COLLINS — The CSU Board of Governors will weigh the question of an on-campus stadium Thursday.

The meeting will include public comment from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. as well as a presentation on the stadium.

CSU President Tony Frank on Monday announced the university could go forward with the construction of a $246 million, 43,000-seat stadium, but only after $125 million is raised through donations in the next two years. That figure is about half of the projected cost of the stadium.

Now that Frank has made his recommendation, the board must give its approval.

The meeting will be held in the Cherokee Park Room in the Lory Student Center on the CSU campus.
According to the university's consultants, the new stadium could bring in up to $18.31 million in its first year of operations. Foes of the project say that projection is overly optimistic.

Joe Zimlich of the Bohemian Companies, the organization founded by heiress Pat Stryker, chairs the Board of Governors. On Tuesday, Stryker said she has not committed to donating money for the project.
