JBS swings to $178M profit in 3Q

JBS S.A. reported Tuesday a $178 million profit for the third quarter vs. a $33 million loss the prior third quarter.

Net revenue for Sao Paulo-based JBS S.A. totaled $9.4 billion for the third quarter, 24 percent higher than last third quarter.

JBS USA Beef in Greeley, which includes operations in Australia, posted third-quarter net sales of $4.3 billion, up from $4.2 billion last third quarter.

JBS USA Chicken, which consists of Greeley-based Pilgrim's Pride Corp., posted third-quarter net sales of $2.1 billion vs. $1.9 billion in the last third quarter.
