GREELEY — UNC's Monfort College of Business has extended the deadline for entries for the fourth annual Entrepreneurial Challenge to Nov. 30.

The competition is open to Colorado-based start-ups and will offer $50,000 in prize money awarded to the top three finishers in the contest.

"By start-up venture, we mean anyone who has an idea for a new business based in Colorado is eligible. They must be have begun or be ready to begin business development, market research, and product development, but must not have received payment for the sale of product or services yet," said David Thomas, assistant professor of management at Monfort.

Successful applicants will be selected and notified by Dec. 7 to participate as semi-finalists. This round of competition will include the presentation of business concepts to a panel of experts on Jan 16.

Winners of the contest will be announced March 7 at the Bravo! Entrepreneur Awards, a Business Report event sponsored by the Monfort College.
