Historic Prange Ranch to be sold at grazing auction
GREELEY - After more than 90 years in the same family, the historic 9,920-acre Prange Ranch north of Greeley will be sold at auction on May 12.
The ranch includes 8,000 acres of deeded pasture and grazing land and 1,920 acres leased from the state, according to Westchester Auctions and Ranch Marketing Associates, which is managing the sale.
The deeded pasture and grazing land will sell in 12 tracts with the largest at 2,560 acres. Seven tracts are 640 acres each and the remaining tracts range from 80 to 400 acres. The auction will also include three homes, a bunkhouse, a dairy barn and several outbuildings.
"This is a very well-known and well-maintained ranch in a great location," said Scott Shuman, Westchester spokesman. "This has been a highly productive ranch for many years, and everything is in place for new owners to continue and establish new operations."
The ranch is located off U.S. Highway 85 about 30 miles north of Greeley and 19 miles south of Cheyenne. It was established in 1917 by Henry Prange of Nebraska. The owners will also be selling one of Colorado's oldest brands with proceeds going to benefit college-bound high school seniors through the Bill Perusek Memorial.

FORT COLLINS - Groundbreaking for the Rocky Mountain Innovation
Initiative's new home in north Fort Collins will be held April 7 in the
new Inverness Innovation Office Park, 320 E. Vine Drive.
The groundbreaking, which begins at 3 p.m., is open to the public and
will include Fort Collins city officials and staff, elected state
officials and funding partners for the $7.1 million project. The new
building will be located in the North College Urban Renewal Area, and
$2.8 million of the construction cost was granted in tax increment
financing through the Fort Collins Urban Renewal Authority.
Construction funding was provided by U.S. Bank through the federal New
Market Tax Credit Program. Also helping with funding were the Colorado
Housing and Finance Authority, city of Fort Collins and private
investment and donations.
The 32,000-square-foot, three-story building will utilize green building
techniques and seek LEED Gold certification for its construction. The
building is expected to be ready to occupy by the end of the year.
"The groundbreaking ceremony for the new RMI2 office space is
significant for the Northern Colorado entrepreneurial community, the
city of Fort Collins, and our many partners, volunteers and supporters,"
said Mark Forsyth, RMI2's CEO. "With humble beginnings, RMI2 is now a
regional leader in business incubation and has captured the attention of
organizations such as the Kaufman Foundation for its successful
programs and nurturing of high-potential innovative startups."
The new building will provide ample office space at reduced lease rates
for startups, which will also have access to conference room space, a
shared receptionist area, training rooms for education and community
events and 3,000 square feet of wet laboratory space for bioscience
companies.
RMI2 was launched as the Fort Collins Technology Incubator Program in
1998 and plans call for RMI2 to incubate more than 40 startup companies
over the next five years, creating at least 400 new high-wage primary
jobs. Since its formation in 2008, RMI2 has accepted 24 companies into
