McKee to host open house
LOVELAND - McKee Medical Center will celebrate the completion of its new, expanded emergency department with a community open house on Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The 15,100-square-foot addition to the hospital, located at 2000 N. Boise Ave. in east Loveland, is nearly double the size of the former emergency department. New design features include private rooms and streamlined space construction to allow for quicker response times by emergency personnel.

The open house will include guided tours and demonstrations, along with children's entertainment, refreshments and a visit from AirLife of Greeley.

The new emergency department will begin seeing patients on Sept. 11. For more information, call Sara Quale at 970-635-4031.
CSU names new chairs in business
FORT COLLINS - The College of Business at Colorado State University has named two new chairs in its departments of finance and real estate and computer information systems.

Vickie Bajtelsmit, a nationally known expert on retirement planning and gender differences in investments, is the new chair of the finance and real estate department. Bajtelsmit, the author of three personal finance books, joined CSU's College of Business in 1991 and received the college's Pinnacle Award in 2003 for excellence in teaching, research and service. She received her doctorate in 1994 from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and also has a law degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Jon Clark is marking his second stint as chair of the computer information systems department. Clark joined CSU in 1989 and served as professor and chair until 1992. From 1992 to 2001 he served as associate dean for academic programs and information technology and as associate dean for research and administration.

Clark obtained his doctoral degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and his master's degree from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.
'Green' Web site ready to launch
FORT COLLINS - Environmental leaders from across Colorado will come together on Thursday, Aug. 30, to discuss the GenGreenT Network, a new Web site that features "green" - or environmentally friendly - organizations, businesses, products and services.

More than 40 leaders of nonprofit organizations, environmentally conscious businesses, government offices and other groups will attend the meeting, which will be held at the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, 225 S. Meldrum St.

Those attending the Meeting of the Minds event include representatives of New Belgium Brewing Co. in Fort Collins; Bellvue-based Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Association; U.S. Forestry Department; Northern Colorado Economic Development Corp.; Institute for the Built Environment at Colorado State University; Trees, Water and People of Fort Collins, and Hewlett-Packard Co.

Charisse McAuliffe, founder of GenGreenT, said the GenGreenT Network is a "dynamic social networking Web site" that was created to help connect green sectors of business, philanthropy and the community.

"This Web site makes living your sustainable life easier by helping you find the people and products you are looking for," McAuliffe said in a press release.

A full-scale launch of the Web site is set during the Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Fair at New Belgium's brewery site on Sept. 15-16. For more information, call 970-212-4647 or visit www.gengreen.org.
