Loveland Chamber's Spring/Summer Expo

Due to the May 1 snowstorm during the original Spring Expo, the Loveland Chamber of Commerce has planned a second Spring/Summer business-to-business and business-to-consumer expo with the same vendors and activities.

The Spring/Summer Expo will be held from 4-7 p.m. June 19 in the North Hall at the Ranch.
This is a free event designed to connect consumers, families, seniors and business professionals with local businesses that grow opportunities for the local community.
Attendees will be able to visit rows of growing businesses and take advantage of the Community Business Market, allowing them to pick from great products and services. Participating vendors will see increased visibility to the community and attendees will experience kid activities including a Bounce House, prize giveaways, food samples and more! More than $1,000 worth of door prizes will be available. A grand prize gift basket to the Promenade Shops at Centerra will be awarded as well.

Understanding Aging Pets
Summer is here, and owners of senior pets need to be considerate of how the summer heat can affect their beloved pets. To educate pet owners about senior pets and summer heat and help them understand how to manage it, nationally recognized veterinarian and award-winning pet end-of-life care expert Dr. Kathleen Cooney is hosting a free educational event about senior pets and summer heat from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Wed. June 19.

The idea for this lecture came from attendees of Dr. Cooney’s ongoing lecture series, “Understanding Senior Pets” at the Loveland Public Library. “Many of our repeat lecture attendees expressed interest in learning more about diseases that affect their pets,” said Dr. Cooney. “I enjoy helping pet owners understand what is happening with their senior pets and empowering them to make the right decisions for their pet’s care. Education is a critical component in understanding pet disease and we appreciate the opportunity to bring this information to the northern Colorado community.”
The event will be held in the Gertrude Scott Room at the library, 300 N. Adams Ave., Loveland, CO 80537. No RSVP is required to attend this talk and hosts ask that attendees leave pets at home. On Monday, June 24th, the Northern Colorado Networking Group (NoCoNet) will host their semiannual job fair.

Over thirty local companies and agencies are expected to participate in what has become one of Northern Colorado’s most successful employment events. There is no cost for exhibiting companies or job candidates.
The first hour of the job fair (8:30-9:30am) will be restricted to active NoCoNet members. Non-members are welcome to attend from 9:30-11:30am.
In addition to meeting recruiters, participants will have the opportunity to update their online image. Photographer Bruce Tracy will take pictures for networking websites (such as LinkedIn) for $10.
The Northern Colorado Networking Group (NoCoNet) is a volunteer-run organization of motivated professionals in career transition. Mark Sloniker has made music in many diverse settings over the course of his life. From solo piano performances to jazz trios/quartets, to symphony orchestra concerts, Mark has played and recorded in the U.S. and abroad. Mark is a producer, composer and recording artist, and has made five recordings (CDs) of his own and contributed to many recordings as a “side man” or composer.
Mark has a degree in Music Therapy from Colorado State University and has worked extensively using music as a therapeutic tool in achieving/maintaining wellness. He has worked with Doctors (MDs), Psychologists, and many practitioners in the healing fields bringing music to many who wish to do healing work in this way. He has recorded music for this purpose as well as presented and taught in workshops and seminars.

Join the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce as they host the Golf Classic on August 5 at the Fort Collins Country Club, 1920 Country Club Road, in Fort Collins. The event will feature a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The Community Foundation will be hosting its annual Profiles Luncheon on October 8th from 11:30 a.m.—1:00 p.m. at the University of Northern Colorado University Center Ballroom.

The event will focus on the Community Foundation’s role in empowering education in our communities. Helayne Jones, President and CEO of the Colorado Legacy Foundation, will be the keynote speaker for the event.
Helayne Jones was named President & CEO of the Colorado Legacy Foundation in March 2009. As the leader of this dynamic, growing organization, Jones draws on 15 years of expertise gained as an education consultant, her experience as a college professor, and her previous work as a marketing executive. Her consulting experience includes work with school districts and education foundations in Colorado and throughout the country to implement school reform by improving business processes in education systems. She also has extensive experience with private-sector and nonprofit organizations to facilitate strategic planning, board communications, and manage the impact of change.
Tickets for the event are $30 for individuals and sponsorship opportunities are available.
