FORT COLLINS - Many of the actors, filmmakers and industry insiders whose work will be featured during the three-day TriMedia Film Festival will be in Fort Collins for appearances Sept. 11 through 13.
The weekend will kick off Friday at the Lincoln Center with an Opening Night Double Feature: "TiMER" and "Trucker."
"TiMER" director and writer Jacqueline Schaeffer will attend the festival with lead actor John Patrick Amadori, best known for his role in the popular thriller "The Butterfly Effect." "Trucker" director and writer James Mottern also will attend and speak to audiences about making his film.
Special guests from the festival's Saturday night Gala Film, "Broken Hill," will include actress Alexa Vega, star of the box-office hit "Spy Kids" and the award-winning comedy "Sleepover"; executive producer Sean Covell and producer Chris Wyatt (both of whom were involved with the production of "Napoleon Dynamite"); and director and writer Dagen Merrill. The group will appear on stage following the 7:30 p.m. screening at the Lory Student Center Theater and later will mingle with audience members at a VIP Celebrity Party.
"Audiences consistently tell us that the most special part of this festival is having the opportunity to ask questions of the stars and filmmakers at post-screening discussions and parties," said Francie Glycenfer, one of the festival's two co-directors, in announcing the appearances.
The festival will showcase a slate of more than 50 independent short and feature films; documentaries; original theater performances; and television specials and pilots at venues across Old Town Fort Collins.
Advance festival passes and tickets for the opening night double feature are available at the Lincoln Center Box Office or by phone at 970-221-6730. Single-event tickets and festival passes can be purchased at the door before each showing.
Festival ticket prices range from $5 to $100. Discounts and special pricing for groups, seniors and students are available. For more ticket information, film synopses and a detailed festival schedule, visit www.trimediafestival.org.
